Introduction


Since its inception in 2004, LAKSHYAM, a non-governmental organization, established itself for the welfare of the society, and mankind at large. Engaged in a number of social welfare activities like child welfare, health, education and women empowerment, Lakshyam has rigorously aimed at implementing effective and innovative solutions to improve quality of life of the not-so-privileged communities.

Over the years, Lakshyam has expanded and strengthened its inventive programs and initiatives to bring a practical turnaround in the present social structure. The activities that the organization is actively involved in are various camps, workshops and programs that are designed to cater to the need-based approach. Lakshyam is currently working in 7 states across India and recently commenced its international chapter with Scotland. Two stores in Aberdeen, Scotland showcase our handcrafted products which has definitely given us a global platform.

To broaden its horizons, Lakshyam enhanced its efforts by initiating few major programs to strengthen its impact amongst the not-so-privileged masses.

Lakshyam’s purpose of existence is to enhance the lives of disadvantaged children and women, and to offer a positive direction and a healthier approach towards life. Lakshyam continues to vow a credible, honest, transparent and accountable organization that devotes itself towards a privileged future.

Toy LIBRARY

Lakshyam Toy Library aims at delivering toys and books from the privileged kids to the not-so-privileged ones. Till now, over 2,00,000 toys and books have been distributed across India.

Butterfly : Child Welfare & Education

Lakshyam's Butterfly Program provides Remedial Education Centers for students, in order to fill the gap in the government education system.

Rooh

Lakshyam's Rooh Program tirelessly strives to educate the women of India and empower them with the confidence to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Registrations/Exemption under various Acts

Lakshyam is an NGO registered as trust under the Indian Trust Act 1882vide registration No. 393 dated 3rd Feb 2012 with amalgamation of Lakshya, a society; registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 vide registration number 440 dated 23rd march 2005.

Donations/voluntary contributions are exempted under section 80 (G) 50 (vi) of the Income Tax Act 1961 as per permission granted by the Director of Income Tax (exemptions), New Delhi vide letter No. DEL-LE24407-11012013

Chairperson and Founder

The Founder of Lakshyam, Ms. Anand set up the not-for-profit organization to uplift the cause of child development & women empowerment. Within the span of eight years, Lakshyam has strengthened its foothold in seven states of India with its dynamic programs, functional far and wide. Through the works of Lakshyam, she has managed to design, develop and deliver several programs, in consultation with the state government and other government organizations, to spread awareness in various areas like health, naxalism, legislations and laws.

For her esteemed services, she has been bestowed with several awards including the ‘Jharkhand Ratan Protsahan Award’ and ‘Gandhi Samman Award’ and has been counted as one amongst powerful 100 people, profiled in the Achiever’s Book published by Dainik Bhaskar.Besides Lakshyam, Ms. Anand shoulders several other responsibilities as well. She is the executive member of the Jharkhand State Child Welfare Council, core committee member of Healthy City Alliance & the Vice President of Jharkhand Disable Sports Welfare Academy.

Ms. Raashi Aanand

Founder

The young founder member of Lakshyam, Ms. Aanand handles the functioning of Lakshyam with much enthusiasm and dedication, following in her mother’s footsteps. Simultaneously, she has been running her Advertising & Event Management Agency, MIRRORZ, since the last five years which has immensely helped Lakshyam to organize successful fundraising initiatives, and strengthened its association with several eminent personalities across India.

She has been awarded the ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Entrepreneur India Summit 2013, one of the biggest entrepreneur conventions in the world, hosted by Franchise India Holdings Limited, Asia’s largest integrated franchise solution company in association with Indian Franchise Association (IFA). BBC has also showcased a story on Lakshyam and Ms. Raashi Aanand’s work in the social sector.

Dr. Shayama Chona

Apart from being an inspiration, Dr. Shayama Chona is the epitome of success. From academia to social service, Dr. Chona has everything under her belt.

She strove to make this world a better place through her NGO, ‘Tamana’, that works for physically & mentally handicapped children, has been the former principal of India’s most prestigious school, Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram and has been on the advisory board of 96 other institutions.
With her name in the Limca book of Records 2007 and an unusual of 49 awards, Dr. Shayama has made the difference we wish to see in the world. She was also awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan in 1999 and 2008 respectively. We are lucky to have her on board with us!

Dr. Lalit Bhasin

Dr. Lalit Bhasin

For someone who started his law practice way back in 1962, Dr. Lalit Bhasin’s experience in the field of Law has been a journey of achievements. Each of his milestones has been well lauded. Not only washe awarded the ‘Honorary Membership of the IBA’ in Melbourne in 1994, for outstanding service to the legal profession, but also presented the ‘National Law Day Award’ by the President of India in 2007, for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Development of the Legal Profession in India’ among countless other achievements.

The Founder of Bhasin & Co., one of the largest law firms in India, Dr. Bhasin dons many hats. He’s the President of Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF), a collective of India’s top corporate law firms, Vice President of The Bar Association of India, President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – India Chapter, Chairman of CII National Committee on Dispute Resolution among many others.
Dr. Bhasin’s knowledge and support has helped Lakshyam plan its future course of action and direction in the social field.

Mr. M. S. Bitta

M.S. Bitta

Mr. Maninderjeet Singh Bitta is the Chairman of the All India Anti Terrorist Front and is now a full time social worker who left politics to help and support army families of martyrs. Former President of the Indian Youth Congress and a Minister in the Punjab Government, Mr. Bitta earned the title of a ‘Living Martyr’ after facing deadly attacks and bombings innumerable times, and is known to be anything but scared of bombs and bullets, post the close proximity he experienced with those.

After his violent experiences with terrorists, Mr. M. S. Bitta was tagged as a high risk individual who has been provided with Z+ security for life. His mission in life is to terrorise the terrorists and protect the suppressed.

Mr. Sandeep Jajodia

Sandeep Jajodia

Sandeep Jajodia is a young, dynamic and self-motivated visionary, who is known for his strong judgment and deep insight. As the Chairman and Managing Director of the Monnet Group, he has enabled the organization to emerge as the second largest coal-based sponge iron producer in the country and also the first private sector company to operate the single largest underground coal mine in India. Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited (MIEL), the flagship company of Monnet Group is a fully integrated steel player and an independent power producer, thanks to the in-depth knowledge of Mr. Jajodia.

His positive intentions and thorough insight of the industry is inculcated in the not-for-profit organization, thus helping Lakshyam function in a smooth yet strong manner.

Mr. Rahul Madaan

Mr. Rahul Madaan

Director (Marketing) – Opulence Realty, a real estate company involved in various construction businesses – residential, commercial and infrastructural projects, Mr. Madaan has a business acumen offering 14 years’ career in marketing and administration. He is also working with a Japanese company – Marketing Division, towards establishing and expansion of business in the Indian market. He is an academically qualified aircraft engineer and possesses definite planning and relationship management skills.

Mr. Rahul Madaan’s contribution to Lakshyam is vital, with his invaluable inputs in conceptualizing fund raising events and society programs.

Mr. Amit Bansal

Mr. Amit Bansal

He is the Operations Manager (Assets) of Africa for Ensco PLC which is one of world’s biggest and premium oil drilling contractors. An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, he is a mechanical engineer who started his journey as a management trainee, and has never looked back. He has worked across five continents in different roles while dealing with multiple nationalities and working through a variety of challenges.

He has been active with education for not-so-privileged children right from his college days. Since Lakshyam’s inception, Mr. Amit Bansal has been constantly involved in the functions and programs of the NGO, and extended his support in a lot many ways.

Mr. Ravish Kapoor

Mr. Ravish Kapoor

Ravish Kapoor is a name synonymous with special occasions. He is a pioneer in the art of customized, couture invitation cards coupled with top notch branding and packaging. One of the youngest entrepreneur in the industry has ushered the trend of exquisite invitation cards for special occasions. He has exclusively worked with the top brands and prominent celebrities in the industry like Shilpa Shetty and Karisma Kapur. Ravish Kapoor is a ‘one stop shop’ brand that has constantly supported Lakshyam, especially during its fundraising initiatives.

Mr. Rajeev Gupta

Director of Golden Bells Playschool & De Indian Public Senior Secondary School, Mr. Gupta has a vast experience in the field of education since the last 15 years. He is an academically qualified CA, CWA, CS and an MBA.
He is one of the Directors of the educational publishing house, Rachna Sagar, which publishes books for Nursery till 12th standard, and also for IIT/Medical entrance examinations, under the brand name of ‘Together With’.

Mr. Gupta is also the Secretary of Early Learning Association of India, a venture of the Ministry of HRD, India and Australian Govt. for revamping early school curriculum. He is associated with All India Anti-Terrorist Front as the General Secretary and the Chairperson of Anti-Corruption Cell, Delhi. He has been awarded the ‘9th Meri Dilli Award’ for his outstanding contribution in the field of Child Education in 2011 by Mr. Kapil Sibal, Union HRD Minister, Government of India.

Mr. Rajiv Gupta’s immense support to plan out educational programs for all the centers of Lakshyam is truly helpful and much appreciated.

  • In 2015, Lakshyam received an award for ‘Outstanding Performance in the Field of Social Work’ at Shaksiyat Awards 2015, on the occasion of Women’s Day.
  • In 2014, UTV Bindaas ‘B for Change’ awards felicitated four changemakers of India, one of them being the Founder of Lakshyam, Ms. Raashi Aanand. Youth icon and talented actor, Mr. Abhay Deol did the honours.
  • In 2014, the Founder of Lakshyam, Ms. Raashi Aanand received the ‘Women of Vision’ awards at the GTM Holistic Award 2014.
