Nazma

Once upon a time, in the bustling city of Delhi, there lived a young and determined woman named Nazma. At 22 years old, she had embarked on a journey that would change not only her life but also the lives of many underprivileged children. Nazma was a college student when she decided to join the Lakshyam NGO, driven by her passion for education and the desire to make a difference.Lakshyam NGO was located in Vasanj Kunj, JJ Basti, Delhi. It was the first NGO of its kind, dedicated to providing education and support to children living in poverty-stricken areas. Nazma’s journey with Lakshyam began with basic teaching training, where she learned the essential skills to help the children academically and emotionally. As she stepped into the role of a teacher at Lakshyam, Nazma’s heart swelled with compassion for the children she met. Their eagerness to learn and their resilience in the face of adversity inspired her to give her best every day.One of the challenges Nazma faced was overcoming the family and social mindsets prevalent in the basti. She encountered skepticism and doubts from families who were unsure about the value of education. However, her determination and dedication to the cause slowly started to change hearts and minds.Lakshyam played a crucial role in supporting Nazma’s efforts. They organized workshops for the ladies in the basti, teaching them skills like stitching, art, and craft using waste material. These workshops not only empowered the women but also created a supportive community that recognized the importance of education for their children.

Over the span of four years, from 2012 to 2016, Nazma dedicated herself to Lakshyam, teaching and guiding the children with love and care. Her journey was filled with countless moments of joy and fulfillment as she witnessed the children’s growth and progress.Through Lakshyam, Nazma got the opportunity to work in different states, stepping out of her comfort zone and immersing herself in new experiences. She traveled to Gujarat and found herself in the mesmerizing Rann of Kutch, where she helped tribal communities and taught them valuable skills. The experiences she gained while working with the tribals and at Lakshyam transformed Nazma in ways she never imagined. She found her confidence soaring to new heights, knowing that she was contributing to something meaningful and impactful.Reflecting on her journey, Nazma humbly expressed, “If it were not for Lakshyam, I wouldn’t be where I am today.” The NGO had not only provided her with a platform to pursue her passion for teaching but had also broadened her horizons and given her wings to fly.Today, Nazma stands tall as an administrative professional in a reputed company. Her experiences with Lakshyam have made her a well-rounded and compassionate individual, dedicated to making a positive impact in every sphere of her life.Even as she progressed in her career, Nazma never forgot the lessons she learned at Lakshyam. She instills the same values of education and empowerment in young girls around her, encouraging them to become strong, independent, and confident individuals.
