Year 2015

  • Lakshyam was partner with Delhi College for Arts and Commerce for their annual NNS unit Fair, named ‘Adhya”. The theme of the fair was Children and Women Empowerment.
  • The women at Lakshyam displayed handicrafts, jewelry and other works, at the 11th Premier Schools Exhibition held at The Grand, New Delhi.
  • Lakshyam Partnered with Khalsa College, as well as Ramjus College for their annual fest where Lakshyam put up stalls that displayed the creativity and innovation of children at Lakshyam!
  • The handicrafts at Lakshyam were Showcased at the renowned exhibition, ‘Medusa’, held at The Grand, New Delhi. We received an overwhelming response and appreciation from all customers present!
  • Lakshyam collaborated with the Enactus Team at Ramjus College, of the prestigious Delhi University, to organize a skill training session for crafting handmade Tote Bags.
  • Lakshyam joins project ‘Aradhaga’ with Enactus Team, at Ramjas College.
  • The children at Lakshyam’s school, Ranchi, performed a street play, which later got featured in the Newspaper.
  • In Collaboration with IIT, Delhi, Lakshyam’s children attended a learning workshop with ‘Arvind Gupta toys and books’. The workshop was based on the theme ‘Toys from Trash’ that focused on teaching children how to make toys from other waste material. The session was very intriguing and engaging for the young children!
  • In collaboration with the Enactus Team, Lakshyam put up a stall at Miranda House and made a huge sale of handcrafted products!
  • In association with Apeejay Arts, the children of Lakshyam attended a puppet-making workshop designed to introduce children to visual culture of the exotic Nagaland.
  • Lakshyam celebrated its Annual Day on the 5th of April at JJ Basti with several cultural performances and display of skill!
  • The women at Lakshyam displayed its products at the reputable exhibition, Fashion Pitara at Ranchi and at Fashion Capsule, Delhi.
  • Lakshyam carried out a volunteering activity partnering with TATA Communication under ‘TATA Engage’. The employees of TATA Engage also visited Lakshyam’s schools and helped beautify Lakshyam’s Campus with illustrious paintings and art!
  • A workshop by SLAP (Street Level Awareness Program) was organized at the JJ Basti center. The workshop focused on imparting training and knowledge of dangers on the streets of Delhi and equipping the children with effective self-defense techniques.
  • Lakshyam launched its initiative, ‘Soules4soles’ in collaboration with Relaxo Footwear Limited. The initiative was centric to providing used/unused footwear to the poor of this city.
  • The artwork of one of Lakshyam’s own students, Sandeep, was published in the comic book, Champak, on the index page! Sandeep also won a free subscription of Champak for the entire year!
  • For the victims of the disastrous Nepal earthquake, Lakshyam organized a relief campaign and supplied relief materials (Warm Clothes, blankets, Footwear, sanitizers, Dettol Soaps) to the victim.
  • This year, Lakshyam became the Network Partner for a Charity Gig that took place at Ambience Mall. Vasant Kunj. The event involved young and talented artists displaying their skill for the cause of raising funds.
  • Students of VLCC institute visited Lakshyam’s Center and gave new style and cut to the children at the Basti! Needless to say, it was one of the most enjoyable days ever!
  • Lakshyam organized a jewelry making and bag making workshop at the Ranchi Center with the help of Ms. Rajni, who is an expert of the said art.
  • Study by Janak, an honored and reputable store, organized a block-printing workshop for women at Lakshyam. The workshop gave deep insight to the women about the exquisite art of block printing. Lakshyam was also awarded Shelf space at stores situated in South Extension, Karol Bagh and Gurgaon.
  • The Director of Study by Janak, Ms. Vandy Mehra, also donated a huge amount of shredded cloth that was used by the women at Lakshyam to design several materials and merchandize.
  • On the occasion of World Environment Day, the women at Lakshyam’s Jharkhand Center made bags from waste cloth materials to send out a message for reusing and recycling in the most efficient manner.
  • Lakshyam opened a new remedial center at Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. We adopted a community of Rag pickers, who will now be under Lakshyam’s protection and care!
  • India Meets India now showcases Lakshyam’s products!
  • The acclaimed and eminent designer, Varun Bahl, showed his support to Lakshyam by awarding us Shelf Space at his store in DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj, where Lakshyam’s products will be displayed.
  • Lakshyam launched an exclusive range of funky and exciting T-shirts in collaboration with FreeCultr!
  • With the support of Dr. Gaganpreet, Lakshyam set up a relief stall at Kathmandu, where the aftershocks of tremors had devastated innumerable families and lives.
  • Lakshyam opened its first center at Ranchi, Jharkhand under Lakshyam’s child welfare program, ‘Butterfly’.
  • Prerna School Of Inspiration organized a Kid’s Summer Camp for children at Lakshyam.
  • Enactus Ramjas took the onus to organize educational lessons for women at Lakshyam, every week.
  • Apeejay Group collaborates with Lakshyam for its most recent program Abhyaas, which is centric to waste management and recycling paper.
  • Lakshyam received a group of dedicated volunteers from Lehman University in an exchange program!
  • The highly acclaimed, Ms. Seema Midha, took under her tutorial and mentorship, one of the students at Lakshyam!
  • A One-day workshop on the issue of menstrual hygiene and safe menstrual practice was held at Lakshyam’s Sahibabad center on July 2015, conducted by Tripti Jain.
  • A friendly Football match was organized to mobilize the youth of the community after the opening up of a new Center in Ranchi under one of Lakshyam's main programs, 'Butterfly: Child Welfare & Education’.
  • A drawing competition was organized at Lakshyam’s Center in Jharkhand, Ranchi based on the theme of Independence Day.
  • Lakshyam set up a Computer Classroom at its Jharkhand Center, at Mahilong Village.
  • Lakshyam took the lead to organize the much-needed Aadhaar Camp at its Sahibabad center for the students and people of Arthala (Ghaziabad).
  • The Children at Lakshyam visited Rashtrapati Bhavan at the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and the wonderful opportunity of meeting the hon’ble President Of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
  • With the help of ‘People4People’, Dr. Sunitha Kalyanpur and, Dr. Arjun Kalyanpur, Lakshyam was successful at installing swings and slides at our Ghaziabad Center.
  • Lakshyam participated in the NGO fair organized by JMC as a part of NNS activities.

  • Volunteers from American Express along with members of I-Volunteer team visited Lakshyam’s center at Vasant kunj and helped beautify the school by painting walls and redoing the artwork.
  • Celebrity, host/speaker, holistic grooming Expert Creative director of Lifestyle and former India’s next Top Model Panelist visited Lakshyam Center in Vasant Kunj and interacted with the children.
  • Lakshyam out up a Product Exhibition at Jesus and Mary College of stationary and other funky college-use merchandise.
  • A team of Volunteers from Lovely Professional University visited Lakshyam’s Ghaziabad center and decorated the children’s playground by painting various tale-telling pictures on the wall!
  • A team from Medanta visited Lakshyam's Vasant kunj center for a health and awareness camp. All the women and kids of the community actively and excitedly participated in the camp
  • The team at Lakshyam carried out up to 5, cloth distribution drives and distributed warm clothes and blankets to the poor on Delhi Streets in a collaborated effort with groups and families that were willing to help the poor.

Year 2014

  • Lakshyam collaborated with Ashoka Changemakers as the Network Partner for Re-Imagine Learning Challenge by The Lego Foundation.
  • Lakshyam organized its annual fundraising initiative, ‘Fashion for a Cause’ that aimed at garnering support from the society and raise funds for existing programs with the help of reputed designers like Rohit Bal, Satya Paul, Ashima-Leena among others.
  • A the fashion exhibition of Medusa by Sonal Jindal, the product line of Lakshyam was immensely showcased and much appreciated.
  • Delhi West Round Table India (DWRT 50) organized 'Walkathon' in Hauz Khas Village, to raise funds for Lakshyam and support the children under its umbrella.
  • On the occasion of Children’s Day, the children of Lakshyam visited Rashtrapati Bhawan on the 14th of November, in the company of the Hon’ble President of India.
  • In collaboration with Enactus SRCC, the trainers of Lakshyam carried out a Sanitary Napkin training session in Nekpur Village, near Ghaziabad.
  • 'Delhi Primes: Men Serving Mankind', a coffee table book by Lakshyam, featured a compilation of inspirational profiles of distinguished men in Delhi who have succeeded professionally and their philanthropic works. The second edition of Lakshyam's fundraising initiative included
    Dr. Naresh Trehan, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Kapil Dev, Jatin Das, Rohit Bal, to name a few.
  • Lakshyam launched the reputed brand, Judith Lieber’s 'Children’s Art Bag' that aimed at preserving children’s artwork in a personalized fashion.
  • Joy of Giving Week was celebrated through iVolunteer where an enthusiastic team joined hands to make sandwiches along with the children at Lakshyam's Center, and distributed the delicious snack in the slum-community.
  • A 3-day workshop was organized by Society of Participatory Research in Asia on 'Youth and Inclusive Citizenship in Asia- Pacific', where the participants from countries like Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, Pakistan, Myanmar visited Lakshyam to get a thorough understanding of the workings of the organization and the slums it's working for.
  • Lakshyam was the NGO partner of the Diwali event of Blingg Bazaar. Handcrafted products were showcased at The Lalit International, New Delhi.
  • Lakshyam launched 3 new Toy Libraries in Madhya Pradesh under one of its main programs, 'Lakshyam Toy Library', one in Bhopal and two in Ujjain.
  • Lakshyam was featured in CSR VISION, India’s first monthly magazine in print that is devoted to Corporate Social responsibility and Sustainable Development.
  • Lakshyam organized a Diabetes Health Awareness Camp in collaboration with Rural India Development Society in JJ Basti.
  • Lakshyam participated in UDAAN, an initiative of AIESEC Delhi University which brings together innumerable disadvantaged children of several NGOs across Delhi and student volunteers for field visits in Delhi.
  • A one-week workshop of animated films’ screening, scriptwriting, and an insightful shoot was carried out by P se Picture at the School, culminating in a Short Film made by the children.
  • Clove Dental carried out a Dental Camp for the children of Lakshyam. 87 children were successfully treated in 2 days.
  • DSM donated laptops and computer systems to Lakshyam that helped in increasing the strength of the weekly computer classes.
  • Lakshyam collaborated with Vidyanta Skills Institute and carried out medical training sessions for the young adults.
  • Community members of ‘Transcreation’, a project of Enactus Ramjas, visited Lakshyam for a cross training session with the women.
  • Delhi Photography Club held a one-week workshop for the children at Lakshyam.
  • Oxford Bookstore, Connaught Place organized a storytelling session for the children of Lakshyam who enthusiastically participated in the session.
  • Lakshyam organized a need-based and skill-based Papad Training Program in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
  • Raashi Aanand, the Founder of Lakshyam was one of the four winners of UTV Bindass campaign, ‘B for Change’ awards and awarded the dedication of young leaders of India who brought a change in the society for good, felicitated by Mr. Abhay Deol.
  • Children of Lakshyam performed a street play at Spektrum, the cultural fest of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (DCAC).
  • In association with the Old Abeerdeen Gift Store in Scotland, Lakshyam’s products are now displayed at the unique store in Aberdeen which houses creative and out-of-the-box products.
  • One of the special children at Lakshyam, Taushik, has a skin disorder that has posed serious health issues to him. After a year-long battle to provide him with the quality support he needed, Lakshyam received the much-needed assistance from FORTIS Hospital.
  • Ms. Poonam Anand, the Chairperson of Lakshyam, was awarded the ‘Captain Vijyant Thapar Bravery Award’ by the Gated ETH Foundation for outstanding contribution in the development of community and environment.

Year 2013

  • An anti drug campaign organised in Jharkhand.
  • Make up classes by noted artist, Aashmeen Munjal, took place in Delhi.
  • An exhibition of handcrafted products by the kids and women of Lakshyam, showcased at The Bling Bazaar, Bora Bora, Exl and Rutbaa and others.
  • Children’s Day outing at Children’s Park and National Museum in Connaught Place, supported by Round Table India.
  • In collaboration with Clove, Lakshyam organised free of cost dental services to improve dental health of the kids.
  • Juvalia & You join hands with Lakshyam and becomes the corporate partner of Prayaas: Towards Women’s Awakening.
  • Corporate partner for Prayaas, Juvalia & You taught young girls the art of jewellery making in a workshop.
  • A workshop organised on Human Rights, in support with IIHR.
  • A Story telling and an Art & Craft workshop took place at Oxford Bookstore, Connaught Place.
  • Lakshyam Toy Library project included in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • With the support of Portacabin, the construction of the entire Delhi centre took place.
  • A fun-filled summer camp conducted for the kids.
  • Training of our teachers in Jodo Gyan and NTT in Delhi.

Year 2012

  • Lakshyam opened a school for the not so privileged kids at JJ Basti, Vasant Kunj, Delhi.
  • Fashion for a Cause, 2002: Celebrities walked the ramp to raise funds for street children, and supported the cause.
  • Launched ‘Lakshyam Toy Library’ in Ranchi, Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, in collaboration with NGOs all over India.
  • An Art of Living and Personality Development workshop focussed on building individual self.
  • Ms. Nandita Arora took workshop on jewellery making with waste material, exhibited on Crafusion, an online shopping portal of Bajaj Capital.
  • Women’s Day was celebrated with which displayed handmade products by the women, under Lakshyam’s Prayaas.
  • An Eye Care camp with Sant Parmanand Hospital and workshops on Health and Nutrition Awareness were organised for the disadvantaged communities.
  • An Iodine Deficiency Awareness session and a Breastfeeding Awareness session for the women were organised.
  • Special occasions like Children’s Day and Birthdays of Lakshyam kids celebrated with acclaimed personalities like Ms. Sheila Dixit, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and celebrities Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
  • Delhi Primes: A fundraising initiative that raised a toast to 35 powerful women of Delhi through a Coffee Table Book.

Year 2011

  • Fashion for a Cause, 2001: In association with Being Human, Mr. Salman Khan walked the ramp with our kids at fashion show, and donated for the Delhi set up.
  • Installed toy boxes in 12 schools of Delhi and collected 50,000 toys which were distributed all over India, in association with SAFEXPRESS.
  • A visit to aqua world for orphan children, Jharkhand.

Year 2010

  • Blind children released caged birds in Jharkhand.
  • Opened a centre in Delhi for street kids.
  • Annually, Lakshyam sponsors the ‘Great Catch Award’ at the cricket match for the visually impaired kids, organised by JDSWA in Jharkhand.
  • SAFEXPRESS joined Lakshyam as the corporate partner for Lakshyam Toy Library.

Year 2009

  • Annually, Lakshyam organises a football match for women, organised by JDSWA in Jharkhand.
  • Photography workshop organised for a few blind children in Jharkhand.
  • Women’s Day celebrated with an awareness camp on Law in 7 districts, organised for the women in Jharkhand.
  • Letter of Appreciation by Jharkhand Health Department for creating Anti Tobacco Awareness campaigns in 25 districts.

Year 2008

  • Computer centre established for several blind children in Jharkhand.
  • Awareness activities organised to educate on health, hygiene and sanitation in Jharkhand.
  • Extended support to various NGOs in Jharkhand, like PMI, Sewa Bharti and Anchal.
  • Children’s Day celebrated with 5 orphanages at a zoo in Jharkhand.

Year 2007

  • Parent’s Day celebrated with the adoption of Anchal Shishu Ashram, Jharkhand.
  • International Women’s Day celebrated in 12 villages of Jharkhand, with a workshop on the challenges faced by women.
  • Support to Prakash Kunj in Jharkhand, a mentally challenged centre, by providing educational material throughout the year.
  • Annual painting competition, blood check up camps & Diwali celebrations in Jharkhand.

Year 2006

  • Blood check up camp in Dorando Basti, Jharkhand wherein 526 children got their blood cards.
  • Painting competition organised for the not so privileged children in Jharkhand.
  • Certificate of Appreciation by the Jharkhand Govt for Awareness against Naxalism.
  • Support extended to 25 children at Kala School, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
  • Diwali celebrations with St. Michaels Blind School, Jharkhand.
